Updates about Karen's Condition - December 2000

• November 27 - December 3 - Karen's infection got a little strong this week and she landed back in the hospital. She went back in on Tuesday because she was feverish and had a reaction to her antibiotics. She was released on Saturday (with a different antibiotic) and is still not feeling well, but she's glad to be back home. Karen wants to send a special thanks to all her great friends who have been cooking dinners and bringing them to the house. Your kindness is truly appreciated.
• December 4 - 10 - Karen still hasn't completely recovered from the reaction she had to the antibiotics last week so she's not feeling very well and she's taking things even more easy than usual. However, she is making great strides with her Christmas shopping and planning her holiday. She won't be able to get out to visit anybody over the holidays but she's looking forward to the festivities at home.
• December 11 - 17 - Unfortunately Karen is back in the hospital. She still hasn't recovered from the intestinal problems that she's been having since she had the reaction to the antibiotics a couple of weeks ago, so she had to be readmitted until that is taken care of. There's no release date set for her yet, but she'll be home for Christmas one way or another, even if Tim just has to check her out for the day. Your prayers for a speedy recovery are appreciated.
• December 18 - 31 - Karen had to spend Christmas in the hospital but she had lots of visitors and made the best of a bad situation. She was released from the hospital the day after Christmas, just in time to enjoy a visit from her sister Jill. She's now back to her usual routine at home in bed, and looking forward to a family New Year's Eve celebration tonight. She's still on course to have surgery probably sometime next month. She wishes everyone the best for 2001.
