Updates about Karen's Condition - July 2001

• June 25 - July 1 - Nothing but more good news to report from Karen headquarters. She is doing great in her therapy and her quest towards independence and she continues to get out as often as she can for games, family functions, etc. Speaking of independence, she wishes everybody a great 4th of July holiday!
• July2 - July 8 - Unfortunately Karen had a bit of a setback this week. She developed a fever and some intestinal problems Thursday night and has pretty much been stuck in bed since then. The nurse came to visit on Friday and took some blood samples and cultures. Karen should get the results this week, she may have to go into the hospital but she is hoping that is not necessary. Please keep her in your prayers.
• July 9 - 15 - Sorry, logistical problems prevented an update this week.
• July 16 - 22 - Sadly, there is more bad news to report...the wound on Karen's leg opened back up so she is back to being stuck in bed all the time. No word yet on how long it should take to heal or next steps but that information will be posted as soon as it is available.
• July 23 - July 29 - Good news! Karen's leg wound is healing very well so she has been able to get up and about and back to some of her regular routine. She still has to take it easy though and hopefully will be completely healed soon.
