Updates about Karen's Condition - March 2000

• February 28 - March 5 - Karen got out to see the doctor twice this week and for some fun at a family birthday party this weekend. She also enjoyed a visit from sister Jill this weekend. The condition of her leg sore has not changed, so she is still spending a lot of time in bed and she asks for your continued prayers for healing. There will be a golf fundraiser for Karen on May 20 so clear your calendar and check back later for details, specifics will be posted as soon as they are available.
  
• March 6 - 12 - Unfortunately there is still no good news to report about Karen's sore, it is still not getting any better (though they say its not getting any worse) and the wound nurse was called back in this week. So, Karen is seeing the wound nurse every day and she'll see her regular doctor twice this coming week. She continues to spend a lot of time in bed so she is once again asking for your prayers and loves to hear from every one through email. She wants to send a special thanks to those at Ross Elementary school and her neighborhood friends for providing dinners last month, and thanks also to those at St. Monica's school who are providing dinners this month. It is truly appreciated.
  
• March 13 - 19 - Still no good news to report about the sore. Karen feels like its getting better and she will see her doctor tomorrow (Mon 3/20) for the official opinion. Karen may also have to see a surgeon this week because she might require surgery soon if the sore doesn't get better quick. She's asking for extra prayers this week for healing so that surgery isn't necessary.
  
• March 20 - 26 - Another week and the sore is still not healing. Karen is taking some strong antibiotics to fend off infection in the sore and that caused her to be a bit sick this week. Karen will see a surgeon on Tuesday (3/28) to discuss surgical options to get the sore well and on Thursday (3/30) she'll see her bone doctor to find out how her back is healing. The good news is that the girls are on spring break this week so Karen will have some good company at home.
