Updates about Karen's Condition - October 2000

• October 2 - 8 - Karen saw her doctor as scheduled this week and believe it or not, he didn't give his famous "Let's wait 3 weeks and see how things look" speech. This time he said "Let's wait 4 weeks and see how things look". He did say that the wound-vac has done a lot to heal her sore, but there is still a long way to go. However, he did anticipate that she'd be able to schedule her surgery on her next visit. So, she is back to her regular routine of staying in bed and wearing the wound-vac, waiting for the sore to heal.
• October 9 - 15 - Sorry, technical difficulties prevented an update this week.
• October 16 - 22 - Karen continues to spend time in bed and the wound vac continues to help heal her sore. She had a good time last week planning and hosting Tim's 40th birthday party. Karen also wants to send a big thank you to the Kansas City chapter of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, who hosted another Karen Weir benefit golf tournament this weekend. It is truly appreciated.
• October 23 - 29 - Karen is in her usual holding and healing pattern, hanging out in bed but still staying on top of all the family business. She wishes everyone a happy and safe Halloween!
