Tracheostomy was done last night after 8:00 p.m. When you come in her room, two things. One, they've turned it quarter turn so instead of looking at foot of her bed, you are seeing her entire right side. She is facing right wall. She can look to her left out the window and the sunlight is coming in on her. Or she can look to her right and see nurses etc in hallway. All the equipment has been moved to left wall. Completely new arrangement but much better for K. Multiple views for her. Second thing is she is up at about a 45 degree angle. Her back surgeon wanted her elevated and it is just fantastic to see her up. She still has feeding tube in her mouth. Stomach tube surgery has been postponed till after back surgery which is now scheduled for Friday evening into Saturday morning. 6-12 hours. She was peacefully sleeping. Her lips are swollen. She has a sore on her mouth from tube rub.
