Got back late today because Karen was in the building today! The food tube has been relocated in her nose thereby completely liberating her mouth. When she comes up from sedation lake, she had a lot to say about a lot. She could be calmed which is good cause she yanked her feeding tube twice last night. She wanted a pillow. She wanted her head higher. She tried to lift her head so she could see more. Her legs were unwrapped cause her nurse thought she needed a break. Her last chest drain tube has been removed. She makes all the Italian gestures with her hands and eyebrows. I am so proud. Oh, wait. We're not Italian. I brought her word card to her and she pulled my hand holding the card closer to her head and she squinched her left eye to try to focus. "I am..." we got down to thirsty and she shook her head. She had blue styrofoam lollipop dipped in water and she sucked on it. Wow! She talked away but when she doesn't completely over enunciate I can't read what she's saying. Tim's going to try to bring the girls to her Friday before THE surgery so they can see her in a more alert state. She set off every alarm again and had to be sedated again so we left. Wow. A truly miraculous day. Thank G-d!.
