Great day! Her eyes are open. She is on first experiment with breathing on her own. She had only one tube going into her trach and it is humidified oxygen. Nurse Katherine? showed Tim how to suction her cause she is trying to cough up schmutz. He is now a trained professional and is great. And she took my hand and gave me hug and leaned her arm on my shoulder and then she turned her eyes and looked me in the eye and smiled! YES, SHE DID! But then Tim had prowled around and was standing behind me and he said she was smiling at him and she did turn her eyes to him and really smile and she brushed his face, his whiskers and I had to get out of the way cause then they kissed...which I closely observed and it was delicious. She closed her eyes when they kissed. My, oh, my. What a wonderful visit. A little frown now and then. A little tug on her halo ring but mostly it was the very best. Tomorrow is three weeks and she is doing fabulously well. Yay!
